The “Edificio de los Pavos Reales” (building of the peacocks), as it is affectionately known, is an historic landmark building conveniently located in the Balvanera/Almagro section of Buenos Aires. Built in 1912 by the famed Italian architect Virginio Colombo, it employs the Art Nouveau style with a distinctive Venetian flair. The name of the building is derived from the four balconies of the façade. They have beautiful carvings of peacocks, which over time have become the most identifiable features of the building.
